Dr Bernd Ehle is a partner at LALIVE (Geneva/Zurich/London), specialising in international arbitration. He has extensive experience as counsel and arbitrator in over 100 international commercial and investment arbitration proceedings conducted under various major arbitration rules and governed by both civil and common law. His practice focuses on complex disputes involving large-scale construction, infrastructure, and mining projects. Bernd is particularly committed to dispute resolution and capacity building in Africa where a significant portion of his work is concentrated. His expertise includes serving on dispute adjudication boards. Recognized by Who’s Who Legal Global Leaders in Arbitration 2022 as a “leading light in the next generation of international arbitration practitioners in Switzerland”, Bernd also assists and represents clients in the enforcement of arbitral awards and other arbitration-related proceedings before state courts. He is a member of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Arbitration Centre, the Board of Directors of AfricArb and of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC) and a member of the Advisory Board of Africa Construction Law (ACL). Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and a member of the Executive Committee of the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy (FIAA).
