Henry Pannell is Managing Director, and quantum expert witness, at FTI Consulting. He is based in London, but has previously lived and worked in Southern Africa.
He is a Chartered Accountant, and specialises in providing expert advice on the quantification of damages claims in domestic and international commercial and investment disputes, valuation, accounting issues and post-acquisition disputes. His experience covers many industries, jurisdictions, courts and arbitral forums, although a large proportion relates to disputes in Eastern and Southern Africa.
He is regularly appointed as an expert witness, in both arbitral and litigation proceedings, and has testified before arbitral tribunals.
He regularly presents on damages and valuation related topics to law firms, and has taught courses on investor-state arbitrations as part of a wider programme on the Promotion and Protection of Investment in Africa with the University of Pretoria.
He has a keen interest in considering the use of AI in expert witness work and in consulting more generally, and is a member of FTI Consulting’s AI Leadership Committee.
