James Ngotho Kariuki

James is a practicing lawyer at DLA Piper Africa, Kenya (IKM Advocates). James is also the current Chairperson of the Young Members Group (YMG) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Kenya Branch. James was recently appointed as a Regional Representative of the Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG) of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). James is a Fellow (FCIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK, Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (FMCIArb) as well as a Fellow of the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand (FAMINZ). James also holds a Master’s Degree (LL.M) in International Investment and Trade Law. In recognition of his exemplary strides in the alternative dispute resolution, practice he was recognised as the Young Arbitration Practitioner of the Year at the 3rd African Arbitration Awards and was listed among the Top 40 under Forty Men 2023 by the Business Daily. He has been involved in local, regional and international arbitrations commercial law, corporate law, competition law, intellectual property law, international law as well as land and environmental law and has extensive exposure and experience in the above aspects of the practice.
